Jura-Capresso 13422 Impressa C9 Automatic Espresso Center

If there's one company that might be considered the reigning King of massive super-automatic espresso machines, that company has to be Jura-Capresso. There aren't many more impressive machines than the Jura-Capresso 13422 Impressa C9 Automatic Espresso Center. See what I did there with the word impressive and Impressa...ok, end cheese.

Let's face it though, anything that Jura-Capresso produces is going to be incredibly expensive, and their Impressa line is no different. So if you're going to spend thousands of dollars, you need to be sure that this is the right machine for you. That's what we'll try to figure out today.

Let's Look At The Specs For The C9

This massive machine clocks in at 1,450 watts and is able to produce 18 bars of pump-powered pressure. To give you a reference point, a regular manual machine usually only uses 15 bars of pressure.

The C9 comes with a conical burr grinder that has 6 settings so that you can get your espresso beans to the exact consistency that you like for making espresso your way. It also has a pre-ground coffee funnel so that you can pour in pre ground coffee (some people like to buy beans already ground for some reason - I've never been able to figure out why exactly - but if you are one of them, this feature has you covered!).

You'll also notice a sixty-four ounce removable water tank for easy filling. Frankly the tank could be a little larger for my tastes, but you won't have any problems with running out of H20 between making shots - so no worries there.

Oh, and it also uses a ThermoBlock heating system which is pretty standard in many espresso makers across different companies and segments.

Let's see...what else is there to mention...the machine comes with a 2-year limited warranty which is nice because many times companies try to pawn off a 1-year warranty and then the machine breaks in month 13! You don't have to worry about that here!

Finally I'd like to point out that the Impressa C9 comes with a DVD that explains how to use it. This is pretty important because people really can get overwhelmed when they first see these massive espresso centers. It's hard to know where to start. The DVD will point you in the right direction and explain everything you need to know.

What Other People Are Saying

The Impressa doesn't have a lot of reviews at Amazon; it has nine to be exact. You sort of expect that though given how expensive the machine is. Four gave it 5-stars, one gave it 4-stars, one gave it 3-stars, and three gave it 1-star.

Normally 3 out of 9 people giving it 1-star would raise red flags with me, but not in this case because one of those people was complaining about a different model (the F7 which is a whole different machine!), one person was complaining that their steam frother wasn't hot enough (doy!) and one person bought this machine as an upgrade to an old model that malfunctioned and were really just complaining about the old model.

What's The Bottom Line

Make no mistake, the Impressa is an expensive machine and a considerable investment. It's not for everyone. But if you really love espresso, drink a lot of it, and want the very best super-automatic espresso center, then this is probably the machine you're looking for.

One thing you can be sure of is Jura-Capresso. They really are the leaders in Super-Automatic espresso machines for a good reason. Their machines not only work well, but they look awesome too.

So at the end of the day, it all comes down to you. Jura-Capresso 13422 Impressa C9 Automatic Espresso Center retails for a whopping $1,899 but we've got 10 available for just $1,699 while supplies last. If you've got that kind of cash to spare, then you'll probably be very happy with this machine.
